How to secure wireless communication links in public safety?

As the weather gets hotter, fire rescue becomes a more important part of public safety. Since most fire departments cover large geographic areas and have growing populations, fire departments are responsible for large areas, including sparsely populated areas that lack cell phone service.
In order to respond to fire emergencies in a timely manner, fire departments need to enhance their wireless equipment signals to ensure reliable wireless connectivity at stations and incident sites at all times. In addition, they wanted to add failover capabilities to their mobile data coverage to always maintain wireless connectivity and be able to keep service uninterrupted in the event of an outage or network failure.
The Solution
The fire department installed two antennas on each fire truck with corresponding routers. Since the antennas feature four ultra-broadband 5G LTE components, four WiFi 2.4/5.0GHz components and a high-performance GPS/GNSS antenna, Hologic gave them the robust and reliable wireless connectivity they needed.
Designed for the latest generation of LTE Cat 18/20 routers and devices, this rugged low-profile antenna consists of up to 11 components and contains four isolated high-performance antenna components covering 617-960/1710-6000MHz, up to six optional dual-band components covering 2.4 and 5.0/7.2GHz with WiFi support for MiMo/Split set operation, and an optional high performance GPS/GNSS antenna with integrated 26dB gain LNA and high quality filtering, capable of providing unparalleled positioning accuracy.
It can support many terminal uses without the need for a metal grounding layer, maintaining a high level of performance even when mounted on non-metallic surfaces. And is designed to be suitable for operation in the harshest conditions.
By installing two antennas on each fire truck, the fire department ensures that any location in the area can have flexible wireless communications and seamless connectivity. They also gave feedback that some of the surrounding areas where connectivity was once impossible no longer have any problems, and the speed is even higher than it was before for the entire district, which greatly improves the efficiency and safety of the entire firefighting process.
